MUSIC.DESIGN.FORM festival. New dimension of Danish design
What connects avant-garde synth-pop, experimental and minimalist music, as well as beatbox and broadly understood design? The common denominator is the interdisciplinary project of the Szczecin Philharmonic – MUSIC.DESIGN.FORM Festival, whose partner is the Danish Cultural Institute.
Throughout the festival days, you will be able to see exhibitions and unique interactive installations. They will include, among others, the exhibition of “Danish design in the lens of Piotr Topperzer”, where photographs of Danish design objects like jewelery, furniture and housing equipment will be presented.
The program will also include workshops for children and adults, as well as lectures and discussions on issues concerning contemporary design. This year, Szczecin will be visited by Trine Blicher Folmer – Danish architect and owner of the Getto studio, dealing with three aspects of city planning: physical, social and mental. She will lead workshops for adults “Sense Szczenin – building dreams for your city” which aim is, among others, building a committed community of creators who actively and consciously undertake activities aimed at improving the quality of the surrounding urban space. Trine will also take part in a panel discussion on the subject of modern design “Durability, usability, beauty – and what next?” together with Polish participants from the Szczecin University of Technology and architectural blog “Architecture in Szczecin”.
Piotr Topperzer came to Denmark in 1969, where a meeting with new culture awakened his photographic passion. In Denmark, he studied at a photo school, and a few years after he graduated, he founded his own atelier. The artist’s way of expression is characterized by international, minimalist and elegant style.
