Neighbours over the Baltic Sea

Poster of the Neighbours by the Baltic Sea Programme proj. Peter GyllanNeighbours over the Baltic is a cultural cooperation programme initiated by the Danish Cultural Institute, based on the exchange of experiences, contacts and ideas as well as common realisation of bilateral cultural activities. The cooperating parts are: The Danish Cultural Institute, Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Copenhagen and Royal Danish Embassy in Warsaw, that coorganise various bilateral or international cultural projects, a.o. presentations of Polish culture in Denmark.

One important aspect of the programme is that of promoting, in Poland and in Denmark, the idea of neighbourhood that due to the 50 years of political separation is far from obvious for both Poles and Danes.

The poster edited by the Institute and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Copenhagen was designed by Peter Gyllan, professor at Danmarks Designskole, a Danish artist of Polish origin.
