World Basketry Festival in Nowy Tomysl
From 29.-31.August in Nowy Tomysl a World Basketry Festival took place. Representatives from all continents participated incl. Denmark represented by Jette Mellegren and Jan Johansen. A basketry competition, final exhibition, wicker products market as well as concerts of groups from the participating countries were main events during the festival.
Organizers were Nowy Tomysl City Council, Nowy Tomysl Cultural Center, Polish Basket Makers' Association. Danish Cultural Institute was one of the honorary patrons.
Henrik Kaalund's On the Verge - A Trilogy in Silesian Dance Theatre
On 30.June within the framework of The International Conference of Modern Dance and Dance Festival organized by Silesian Dance Theatre in Bytom, the performance On the Verge - A Trilogy by the Danish choreographer Henrik Kaalund will be presented. From 30.June-4.July the artist will lead dance workshops.

Premiere of The Nightingale based on H.C. Andersen's fairy tale in Teatr Guliwer in Warsaw
On 7. June in Teatr Guliwer in Warsaw the first-night performance of H.C.Andersen's The Nightingale directed by Ewelina Pietrowiak. Danish Cultural Institute is the Honorary Patron of the premiere.
Concert of Danish Classical Songs
On 7. June 2008 in Oranzeria of the Wilanow Palace the concert with Danish songs' by Susanne Bungaard - soprano - and Mette Christensen - piano. The concert was a part of the 4th. European Songs' Festival organised by Romuald Traugutt Philharmonic in Warsaw.
Nature in Hans Christian Andersen's fairytales
The Bialystok division of The Polish Forest Society invited the director of the Institute and translator of the writer's fairytales, Boguslawa Sochanska, to give a lecture on The nature in Hans Christian Andersen's fairytales. The lecture took place on 2. June in the Regional State Forest Authority in Bialystok.
Children's film festival in Warsaw 31.May- 8.June
From 31. May- 8. June thirteen best Danish films for children and teenagers in Muranow Cinema in Warsaw. Film-shows for the youngest spectators: 31.05-01.06 and 07.06-08.06, and for shool children 02.06-06.06.2008. LEGO prepared surprises for all taking part in the morning film-shows on 1. June. On 3. June a Polish-Danish seminar on films for children and teenagers. Speakers:

Flemming Kaspersen from The Danish Film Institute and Polish filminstructor Andrzej Maleszka.
