Competitions in the H.C. Andersen's Year
During the H.C. Andersen's Year schools, libraries and cultural centres all over the country arranged plenty of art, musical and literary competitions, of which many were patronized by the Danish Cultural Institute. The most interesting art works were gathered and arranged into an art exhibition presented within the project Andersen in the Castle (08.-29. December 2005) at the Center of Culture Zamek in Poznan. The opening of the exhibition was accompanied by a performance by young artists from Poznan artistic schools as well as the girls' choir 'Skowronki'.
The institutions which delivered the praised works received books and CDs with H.C. Andersen's fairy tales as well as sets of playing bricks founded by the company LEGO.
The litterary competition Write a Fairy-tale announced in January 2005 by children's periodical "Swierszczyk" and The Danish Cultural Institute is now ended. The jury has chosen seven best fairy-tales written by 8-9 year old kids. Here they are (in alfabetical order):
Kasia Dobrowolska from Koszalin for the fairy-tale: The little sculptress.
Aleksandra Krasowska from Legnica for the fairy tale: A Cat that became a Horse.
Patryk Labuda from Kielpino for the fairy-tale: The Magic Football Boots.
Aleksandra Lominska from Brusy for the fairy-tale: Dogs and cats.
Mateusz Rybarczyk from Wyszków for: A fairy-tale about stars.
