GNIEZNO ENCOUNTERS WITH THE POSTER. THE 6TH ENCOUNTER: DENMARK
In cooperation with the Danish Cultural Institute, the National Museum in Poznan has arranged an exhibition of Danish posters that may be visited in the period from
5th November 2004 to 27th February 2005 in the Museum of the Origins of Polish State in Gniezno. The exhibition is number six in the series of world poster presentations entitled Gniezno Encounters with the Poster.
The exhibition presents more than 200 contemporary Danish posters chosen from the collections of the Poster and Design Gallery of the National Museum in Poznan, of which posters by such artists like Per Arnoldi, Bo Bendixen, Gitte Kath, Finn Nygaard, Finn Skodt are shown. The authors possess their own distinguishable graphic styles and their works are presented at international exhibitions and competitions. The exhibition presents also older posters from 50's and 60's, made by authors today regarded as Danish classics, like Aage Rasmussen, Aage Sikker Hansen and Ib Antoni.
The exhibition is supplemented with a presentation of Danish design objects made by most renowned authors such as Arne Jacobsen, Erik Magnussen and David Lewis as well as a presentation of posters and graphic works by Peter Gyllan, a Pole living and working in Denmark since 1971.
