CONCERTS BY LYNGBY-TAARBAEK SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

Lyngby-Taarbaek orchestraLyngby-Taarbaek Symphony Orchestra consisting of talented amateur musicians as well as students of music from the University of Copenhagen and the Royal Academy of Music gave 3 concerts during its turnee in Poland in the autumn 2003.

The orchestra consists of 70 members in the age ranging from 12 to 55 years and is conducted by Morten Ryelund, who studied conducting with professor Alexander Polischuk at the St. Petersburg Conservatory. In addition to his conducting studies, Morten Ryelund completed an education in violin performance at the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music. The orchestra's solist is Andreas Fosdal who plays the oboe and who recently won the first solo-oboe-position at the Copenhagen Philharmonics. He has received many music prizes, eg. from the Léonie Sonning Music Prize.

The orchestra gave concerts in J.Osterwa Theatre in Gorzow Wlkp. as well as Music School and Sct. Francis Church in Poznan. The programme included Jean Sibelius' Finlandia, Richard Strauss' Oboe concert and Carl Nielsen's Symphony No. 4 "The Inextinguishible".
