THE FILMS OF DANISH FILM-MAKERS WHO WERE ONCE STUDENTS AT THE LODZ FILM SCHOOL

The cinema "Charlie" organized a showing of films made by Danish film-makers who studied their art in Lodz between 1970 and 1990 - along with films by the women-directors Katia Forbert-Petersen, Annette Mari Olsen, and Kathrine Windfeld. Katia Forbert-Petersen and Annette Mari Olsen met at the Film School with Lodz film-lovers, film-makers, and film students.

Anette Marie Olsen Born in 1946 in Holbaek, was raised in Iran and England. Director, producer, and editor - Olsen runs her own company Sfinx Film/tv. She graduated from the Lodz Film School in 1973. She worked as a media consultant for the organization "Danish Assistance for Refugees" from 1986-88. Her knowledge of many languages (Danish, English, Farsi, Polish, and French) helped her in preparing many films on topics concerning ethnic minorities. In several such instances her own translations provided the basis for those films. In 1988 she founded her own production company, Sfinx Film/tv. She authored the screenplays of most of her films - in many cases she was also the editor. She has filmed four feature films (among them the films Lukasz and Agnes, which won awards at competitions held in Poznan in 1974 and 1975), television productions (The Adventures of Charles Perrault and Canterbury Tales for Polish Television in 1974 and 1975), along with many other mini-films and documentaries.
