The project H.C. Andersen in the Castle, held on 8-29. December 2005 in Poznan, at the Center of Culture ZAMEK, included following presentations:
Exhibition Hans Christian Andersen 2005
Exhibition was produced by Odense City Museums and The Danish Cultural Institute in Poland and supported by the HCA2005 Foundation. The story of H.C. Andersen’s life was presented through photos of documents, drawings, letters, portraits and personal objects.

H.C. Andersen’s paper cuts
The exhibition presented reproductions of the paper-cuts made by the writer himself, thus showing the less known, artistic side of the fairy-tale writer.
The paper-cuts from the collections of Odense City Museums were presented on the exhibition. The exhibition was prepared in co-operation with the Silesian Museum in Katowice.

Exhibition of illustrations to Polish editions of H.C. Andersen’s fairy tales
The exhibition presented illustrations to Polish editions of the writer’s fairy-tales from the end of 19. century until now, with special regard to the mostly beloved by the Polish readers illustrations made by Jan Marcin Szancer. The exhibition was prepared in co-operation with the Museum of Children’s Book in Warsaw.

Exhibition of children's works from art competitions
In the course of the year 2005 schools, libraries and cultural centers all over the country arranged art competitions related to H.C. Andersen’s work. The awarded works composed an exhibition presented in the Cultural Center Zamek. Opening of the exhibition was accompanied by a performance of young artists from Poznan music schools and the Girls’ Choir “Skowronki”.

Films
A number of animated, documentary and narrative films have been produced on the occasion of H.C. Andersen 200. Years’ Anniversary. The Danish Cultural Institute and the Embassy of Denmark, thanks to the co-operation with the Danish Arts Agency and the Danish Film Institute presented six latest productions: The Tinderbox dir.
